 Joiners Cottage, Ashford-in-the-Water

Ashford-in-the-Water is a picturesque riverside village that nestles mainly on the east bank of the meandering River Wye as it winds it's way slowly south-eastward towards the town of Bakewell, a couple of miles downstream.  The famous and much photographed medieval Sheepwash Bridge is the site of the original `ford by the ash trees' from which the village takes it's name and one of several ancient bridges which span the river here.

Joiners Cottage is a stone built cottage situated a hundred yards away from the River Wye in this delightful village. Located in a beautiful part of the Peak District National Park, this is an ideal location for exploring on foot with lovely walks from the doorstep, or riding a bike through the many quiet lanes and footpaths of the area. For touring and sightseeing, the nearby attractions of Bakewell or Buxton with their regular markets, the tourist attractions at Matlock, and the unmissable Chatsworth House are all within easy reach, to name a few. More information of where to visit can be found on our 'where to visit' section.

Joiners Cottage is full of character and well-furnished throughout and will include:
  • Cosy sitting room with cosy log burning stove, TV, DVD & Stereo CD/Radio
  • Sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom
  • Large bathroom upstairs with bath & power shower
  • Fully fitted kitchen including a electric cooker, microwave oven & grill, fridge & freezer, dishwasher, and washer / dryer
