Hillocks Cottage is a 300 year old stone built cottage with exposed
beams, situated in the heart of the village and a couple of minutes
walk from the local pub - the Red Lion - which has a reputation for
good food.
For those with an appetite for outdoor pursuits,
Carsington Water, the Dove and Manifold Valleys and Chatsworth are
all close by.
Hillocks Cottage has undergone a sympathetic renovation,
which has enabled it to retain much of its original charm and
character.
Three miles away is Ashbourne, lying at the southern end of the Peak
District, which is a perfect example of an English market town -
market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled
alleys, coaching inns and almshouses.
