An attractive limestone village set on a hillside with winding little streets in a remote corner of Derbyshire, Brassington is located on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park in the midst of glorious open countryside. This attractive and unspoilt conservation village was once a thriving centre at the heart of lead mining country, but things are much quieter now, with a population of about 500. The village of Brassington has two local pubs both of which serve food and a number of public footpaths pass through the village. For those with an appetite for outdoor pursuits, Carsington Water, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are all close by. Beautiful Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy reach, as well as Matlock Bath with its spectacular cable car and caves, history of mining museum and Gulliver's Kingdom. Clipshead Farm Cottage is situated on a farm, about a mile from the centre of the village, in open countryside. A contemporary barn conversion, with all the accommodation on the ground floor, Clipshead Farm Cottage is spacious and well-furnished, with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside and includes:
- Cosy sitting room with Colour TV with Freesat, DVD & Stereo CD/Radio
- 2 bedrooms - 1 double bedroom and 1 twin, to sleep 4
- Family bathroom with power shower over bath
- Fully fitted Kitchen / Diner including a microwave oven, fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washer / dryer
- Oil fired central heating, all fuel and power
- Bed linen and towels
- Cot and highchair available on request
- Garden with lawn and patio area including furniture and BBQ
- Private parking outside cottage
- Pets welcome at no extra cost
- A welcome pack including a pint of milk, some tea & coffee for that important cuppa when you arrive!
Clipshead Farm Cottage is available for 3, 4 and 7-day bookings throughout the year. Both 7 and 3 day holidays normally start on a Friday, while 4 day bookings normally start on Monday. However, we will always be flexible wherever we can, to accommodate the start date and length of holiday you prefer.
We look after our guests personally and are on-call throughout your stay should you need any help or advice.
